We VOTE to PROTECT children βπ½βπΌβπΏβ β β β "In 2018, family separation almost broke me. As a mother and an activist I knew I needed to create art that stood against this hateful policy. I was inspired by the 1968 I AM A MAN photograph and recreated this picture on the steps of the ICE building in New York City. I am extremely proud of this photo series. I was then inspired to support young people in using their power and alongside @fams2gether, I organized a civil disobedience action with children in the Senate building. Children sang songs, drew pictures, and spoke with Senator @kamalaharris about how they wanted the thousand of kids that had been separated ot be reunited with their parents." @paolamendoza photos: @kishabari
