Big victory for Women! Scotland has become the 1st nation to make sanitary products free with #ThePeriodProductsAct. We are one step closer to ending #periodpoverty.
Under this new law, women will no longer have to experience the following issues: 🌸 being vulnerable to infections for leaving period products in too long 🌸 missing school/work due to lack of access to products 🌸 embarrassment and stress, which leads to lower productivity rates, affecting future goals. 🌸 financial discrimination 🌸 environmental harm due to the increased disposal of stained items used to replace period products.
If the US implemented this law, women would no longer be spending their food stamps on period products or be exposed to inhumane treatment in prison. And those are just a few examples.
