Channel Your Climate Anxiety into Action

Your climate anxiety is just climate activism in waiting. Here's 5 things you can do today to help combat climate change:⁠⠀

1. Write your politicians. Let them know that to get your vote they need to commit to green energy policy.⠀

2. Buy less clothing. Fashion is one of the most polluting industries thanks to the rise of fast fashion and overconsumption. Buy better, buy less or even better, buy second hand.⠀

3. Eat less meat. By reducing your consumption of animal protein by half, you can cut your diet’s carbon footprint by more than 40%⠀

4. Fly less. This one has been easy in the time of COVID but once the option is available, limiting flying drastically reduces your personal carbon footprint (one transatlantic round-trip flight can release around 1.6 tonnes of CO2 - almost as much as the average yearly emissions of one person in India)⠀

5. Divest. Encourage your university, faith group or retirement funds to divest funds out of polluting activities - such as avoiding stocks in fossils fuels. ⠀
